Digital Archive: Hong Kong Cuisine

DATE OF COMPLETION: April 2018

This project brief is called ‘Digital Archive’, which students have to produce an online archive with Squarespace. In order to fulfil the brief, student have to produce 9 images for 3 categories of our choice. I have been given this brief during my semester exchange in Monash University.
As I have been studying aboard for almost 2 years time, the thing that I missed the most is the food from Hong Kong. Therefore, I have chosen 3 main types of Hong Kong cuisine and illustrated them with one main, one side and one drink each.

The first category is Yum Cha, which can be found in proper Chinese restaurant. People usually have them as breakfast or brunch. The whole meal will be dishes that served in bamboo steamers, along with a cup of Chinese tea.
The second category is Cha Chaan Teng, which means Tea Restaurant. Most of the food are influenced by the British culture, since Hong Kong was once colonised by the Britain. People usually have them as lunch or tea.
The last category is Street food, which can be found in food stalls throughout the city. People usually have them as dinner or after dinner.
